The Research Training Program (GRK 1104) “From cells to organs: Molecular mechanisms of Organogenesis” at the University Freiburg, Germany, invites application of highly qualified applicants from all over the world for


Ph.D. Fellowship/ Ph.D. Position


to study molecular mechanisms controlling specification of organ precursors and the control of organ specific morphogenesis and cell differentiation. Fellows will receive a stipend of 1468 Euro per month for a period of up to three years.  Students with children are eligible for additional family allowances.

Applicants for the Ph.D. fellowships:

  • should be no older than 28 years of age (exceptions are possible if particular reasons exist);
  • must hold or anticipate receiving a university degree within the next few months. This academic degree should be equivalent to a European university diploma / master degree and should qualify for the start of a Ph.D. thesis in their home country;
  • should be able to read, write and understand English;
  • should be prepared to take an active part in the work of the GRK 1104. This includes both scientific work (lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.) and organisational work.
